GES to Enforce Mother-Tongue Instruction in Schools
Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has instructed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to ensure full implementation of mother-tongue instruction across all schools in the country.
"I have directed the Director-General of the GES to make the use of mother-tongue instruction mandatory in all Ghanaian schools,"
He explained that the directive aligns with ongoing reforms in the education sector aimed at strengthening the use of indigenous languages in teaching and learning, as part of President Mahama’s broader educational reset agenda.
