Strong by Form has designed a structural floor piece that can span longer distances than existing engineered wood, making it a replacement for steel or concrete, while being lighter than all three.
According to the World Green Building Council, the materials and construction required to erect buildings contributes 11% of global carbon emissions worldwide.
“We’re more into hybrid buildings,”
said Andrés Mitnik, co-founder and CEO of Strong by Form, in an interview with TechCrunch, highlighting the potential for wood in construction.
Strong by Form will showcase its ultralight engineered wood at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025.
