Beauty and Bluster of Wales on Full Display at Cambrian Patrol
The idyllic Welsh landscape belied the brutal 40-mile challenge facing soldiers at this year’s Exercise Cambrian Patrol.
Near Glynneath, over 1,000 troops received orders and completed battle preparations, with some of Wales’ most stunning waterfalls nearby, including Henrhyd Falls.
Storm Amy brought torrential rain during the first phase of NATO’s toughest patrol test, with Officer Cadet Zara Pollock describing the conditions as
“the first time I’ve experienced horizontal rain”.
