American Red Cross Supports Military Amid Government Shutdown
The government shutdown has exceeded 28 days with no end in sight, prompting the American Red Cross to aid military service members who may miss paychecks.
Disagreements between Republicans and Democrats have resulted in the second-longest government shutdown in U.S. history, with negotiations among legislators remaining stagnant.
Concerns have escalated after the Trump administration shifted $8 billion from military research and development funds to pay active-duty members, who may start missing pay this Friday.
Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday he believed that members would be paid at the end of this week.
