After 6 days of fun and a final half-pot total of over $2.5 million, it's time to clean up the mess.
Officials reported that many booths had record sales, with the proceeds going to various organizations in the Tri-State.
The cleanup process involved around 300 active West Side Nut Club members and 100 honorary members.
“It comes and goes, it’s a little tough sometimes depending on the number of people and that kind of thing, but most of the time it’s smooth,”
stated a volunteer, who has helped with the cleanup for over 20 years.
Street sweepers replaced the booths, and trailers were hooked up to remove the remaining structures.
The West Side Nut Club's efforts ensured a smooth transition from the festival to the cleanup.
