Bird Flu Prevention Measures
Poultry owners in Staffordshire have been ordered to keep their birds indoors to prevent the spread of bird flu.
The measures, introduced by Staffordshire County Council, aim to protect poultry and other captive birds.
- Apply to keepers of more than 50 birds
- Apply to sellers of poultry products
- Restrictions are in place in the north, central, and east of England
- Took effect from Thursday, 30 October
Birdkeepers are reminded to be alert to any signs of the disease and maintain good biosecurity.
These measures are necessary to prevent the spread of bird flu.
