Bonnier and Yoto Launch Literacy Initiative
Bonnier Books UK has partnered with Yoto, an audio player company, to introduce a new literacy program in UK school libraries.
The Start with a Story Programme
The initiative, called Start with a Story, will operate within the curriculum for Years 1-6, encouraging students to write stories that are then recorded and edited by Bonnier Books UK's audio team into audiobooks.
- Stories are soundscaped and uploaded onto Yoto audio cards.
- A new Yoto Player and the audio card are donated to the school library.
- Each school receives additional Bonnier Books UK audio cards and physical books to promote listening and reading.
The goal is to
encourage children to listen and follow along, reading the words at the same time.
