A new report from Deadline reveals that the two Doctor Who seasons on Disney+ failed to generate the desired ratings. The past season, which started in April 2025, did not register on Nielsen and Luminate's streaming charts.

Additionally, Ncuti Gatwa, who played the Doctor, never "fully embraced" the role, according to a source. The ratings for the two seasons with Gatwa did not match those of the last season with Jodie Whittaker in 2021.
