Optical Vendor Ribbon Suffers Cybersecurity Incident
Telcos worldwide are experiencing cyberbreaches, but vendors are also being targeted.
Optical system vendor Ribbon Communications, based in Plano, Texas, recently suffered a cybersecurity incident.
In its 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ribbon admitted to being hacked by "unauthorized persons, reportedly associated with a nation-state actor," believed to be a reference to China.

The incident was reported on page 57 of the 10-Q filing under "Cybersecurity Incident Disclosure".
