Great Bend's football team, led by coach Erin Beck, is set to host Wichita Carroll in a second-round 5A showdown at Memorial Stadium.
According to coach Beck,
"It's 5A West playoff time. We're at the point where we'll have to play four quarters. Our kids are fresh and ready to go."
The Panthers have a history with Wichita Carroll, with their last victory in 2006 leading to their lone trip to the 5A state football championship game. The Eagles own a 5-2 all-time advantage over the Panthers.
Key players for the run-oriented Eagles include dual-threat quarterback John Corrigan and main backfield threat Cooper Herrman. Corrigan recently scored two touchdowns in the Eagles' 24-20 victory over Derby.
