A 37-year-old man faces multiple charges after stealing an urn containing the ashes of an infant girl from a mausoleum in Hamilton.

Theft Incident at Resurrection Cemetery

On Sunday, the victim visited Resurrection Cemetery at 254 Garner Rd. in Ancaster to pay respects to his infant daughter, who had passed away recently. When entering the mausoleum, he found the urn with her ashes had been stolen.

Investigation and Arrest

CCTV footage from the cemetery helped police identify a suspect known to law enforcement with a history of similar cemetery thefts. The suspect was located and arrested without incident on Monday in Niagara Falls.

Recovered Items and Charges

Authorities reportedly recovered the stolen urn along with other items believed to have been taken from other gravesites. Kevin Wintonyk, who has no fixed address, faces several charges:
