Stephen Michael Frost, 35, was arrested Tuesday in Alamance County after allegedly kidnapping a woman and driving recklessly while she tried to escape from a moving pickup truck, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.
On November 4, the Burlington Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a dark Dodge Ram driving erratically with a woman attempting to jump out of the vehicle. One call originated from the Econo Lodge in Burlington, where deputies suspected a domestic disturbance.
Deputies reviewed surveillance footage showing a woman wearing a red shirt clinging to the bed of the Dodge Ram, which displayed a Virginia license plate. The truck was last seen near Maple Avenue heading toward the Interstate 40 East on-ramp.
Reports later placed the vehicle near Highway 54 and Thom Road in southeastern Alamance County, but deputies could not locate it.
Stephen Michael Frost was taken to the Alamance County Detention Center, where he remains held without bond.
