The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Seattle, WA, has issued a wind advisory in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday. The alert covers the lowlands of Western Whatcom, Western Skagit, and Northwestern Snohomish counties, as well as the Port Townsend area, San Juan, and Island counties.

"Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph expected. Occasional higher gusts up to 45 mph are possible near the coastline."
