Anemi Modern Greek restaurant, located at 30-17 31st St., offers a blend of traditional and modern Greek flavors.
In the heart of Astoria, on a busy street like 31st Ave., Anemi provides a cozy escape with its low-lit space and warm atmosphere.
We came up with Anemi, which means ‘breeze,’ said George Kalosis, the restaurant’s owner.
Anemi, meaning “breeze” in Greek, aims to bring a sense of calm to its guests, serving dishes like lobster pasta and grilled branzino.
Located inside the Voco Hotel, which opened in August, Anemi made its debut just a month later, in September.
The restaurant's owner, George Kalosis, explains the inspiration behind the name:
A breeze moves you away; when it’s a hot day in the summer, and you feel a breeze, you think, ‘oh, that’s so nice, I was ready for that breeze,’ and we thought it worked really well here.Author's summary: Anemi brings Greek flavors to Queens.
