Manx Telecom is outsourcing its manx.net email service to a specialist provider, resulting in the introduction of charges for users.
The company has subsidized the service for 25 years, but evolving email technology and security requirements have led to increased investment needs in specialized expertise and infrastructure.
- Junara, the technical platform provider, has assumed full ownership and customer support responsibility as of today.
- Users will be charged £65 annually to maintain their email address.
- Those who decline to pay will have their accounts permanently deleted in April next year.
