On November 11, Fort St. John will once again host its annual Remembrance Day parade and ceremony, honoring those who have served and sacrificed for Canada. The event will also recognize living veterans and active service members.
The parade, organized by the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, will start at 10:40 a.m. outside the School District 60 office on 102nd Street. The procession will move along 105th Avenue past the legion building, continue to City Hall, and then return to the cenotaph for a public ceremony.
Following the outdoor ceremony at the cenotaph, participants will be invited inside the legion for a day of community activities.
The event is free and open to everyone, with no prior registration needed.
According to a release from the City of Fort St. John, road closures will take place along the parade route and near the legion building from 9:30 a.m. until noon on November 11, with no vehicle access permitted during this time.
