Michael Bublé, widely known for his iconic holiday music and his role as a coach on The Voice, recently opened up about how his oldest son Noah’s battle with cancer changed the way he views his music career.
Bublé’s 2011 album Christmas achieved incredible success worldwide, making his festive songs a staple during the holiday season. Despite this strong association, the singer revealed he initially had mixed feelings about being so closely linked to Christmas music.
On Sunday Today with Willie Geist, aired October 26, Bublé shared how Noah’s cancer diagnosis shifted his priorities and outlook on his career:
“I've always loved Christmas music, but there was a time, years ago now, where my manager used to get mad ... It was like, they wanted me everywhere. And then my son got diagnosed with cancer, and I don't know why, but I had the clearest epiphany that day. I remember thinking, 'Why did I ever worry about anything else?' And from that day on, I never felt the same about it again. Weirdly, that'll be the legacy.”
Michael Bublé’s son’s illness profoundly changed how he values his career, embracing his holiday music legacy with newfound meaning.
