Local tap dancers Madeline and Luke Scrase proudly represented South Africa at the International Dance Organisation (IDO) World Tap Dance Championships held in Prague, Czechia, from October 22 to 25.
The event took place at the Unyp Arena and featured 1,700 dancers from 21 different countries. The Scrase siblings, together with Madison Versveld from Kempton Park, brought home two bronze medals and a silver, showcasing South Africa's talent on the global stage.
Madeline and Luke also placed sixth in the adult duo category, marking South Africa’s first duo final appearance in 14 years.
Versveld won the "battle of the feet" contest, a freestyle dance-off where dancers improvise to a tempo set by the judges in front of a live audience.
