Larson Ranch: A Legacy of Conservation and Ranching

For 117 years, Larson Ranch near Hamill, South Dakota, has been a staple of cattle ranching and crop farming.

Brothers Audie and Monty Larson's great-grandparents homesteaded the ranch in 1909, 30 miles southwest of Chamberlain.

Conservation Efforts

The Larsons implemented rotational grazing in the 1960s and have utilized no-till and minimum till farming practices since the 1970s.

Hunting and Tourism

Travelers from all 50 states and 10 foreign countries have visited the ranch for hunting pheasants, deer, turkeys, and other wildlife.
