Cody Balmer Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder

Cody Balmer pleaded guilty to attempted murder for firebombing the home of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

Balmer, 38, faces 25 to 50 years in prison under a plea agreement. He told police he harbored "hatred" towards Governor Shapiro.

In April, Balmer threw a Molotov cocktail at Shapiro's official residence during a Passover holiday gathering with friends and family.

Balmer said he would "have beaten him with his hammer" if he had encountered Shapiro during the attack.

Balmer's plea agreement includes a prison sentence of 25 to 50 years.
