Karlis Zaid stars in The Lucky Country, a contemporary comic chamber musical about Australian identity that punches well above its weight despite a small cast and indie budget setup.
The musical premiered in Sydney in 2023 and is set to return as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival before traveling to Brisbane.
With music and lyrics by Vidya Makan in collaboration with director Sonya Suares, The Lucky Country offers a mix of earworm-friendly songs and ballads laden with local music and pop culture references.
