Pet Blessing: A Reminder to Love Unconditionally and Forgive

Pets are a blessing to their adoptive families and have received a special blessing in keeping with St Francis of Assisi's faith and appreciation for God's creation.

On October 4, the Upper Mount Gravatt Wishart Parish held a Pet Blessing Liturgy, led by Fr Francis Fernandes, to celebrate the Feast of St Francis, the patron saint of animals and ecology.

St Francis saw the world "not as something to be used, but as something to be cherished"

Fr Rony Kalapurackal Chacko shared an inspiring message reflecting on the love and lessons pets bring into our lives, noting that St Francis called the sun his brother, the moon his sister, and even preached to the birds.
