United Way of Delta County Focuses on School Readiness
United Way of Delta County decided to change its approach to serving the community in late 2019.

The organization has become "issue-focused" on school readiness, according to Executive Director Julie Mallard. A Family Academy event was held on September 18 at Bay College, featuring literacy-based activities and free books.
One of the popular stations at the event was the Rhythm and Rhyme station, where children learned how music and rhythm boost literacy skills.
