CanScreen, a virtual cancer-screening clinic, has expanded its services to all of Vancouver Island.
The clinic, which was started in 2023 by two doctors in Victoria, aims to provide cancer screening services to patients who do not have a family doctor.
To access the service, patients can visit www.canscreenbc.com to book a test. The results are then sent to Dr. Stuart Bax, who will contact the patient to discuss the findings.
According to Dr. Bax, the virtual clinic was started to address the challenges of booking screenings without a family doctor.
If follow-up care is needed, patients will be scheduled to meet with a clinician in Port Alberni, Comox, or Nanaimo.
