Survey: Debt and Discrimination Head Up American Concerns for Higher Ed
A recent survey gathered responses from nearly 32,000 people across all 50 states, revealing concerns about higher education.
According to the survey, affordability and discrimination rank high among Americans' concerns, with 87% of respondents citing tuition costs and student debt as their top concern, followed by racism on campus (86%), antisemitism (85%), and Islamophobia (78%).
The survey, known as the “American Higher Education Barometer,” was conducted over the summer by researchers at Harvard, Northeastern, and other universities to examine views on higher education amidst policy shifts and financial pressures from the Trump administration.
The survey results highlight the need for addressing affordability and discrimination in higher education.
