Season Ends for Gibraltar Girls Volleyball Team
The Gibraltar girls volleyball team's season came to an end on Tuesday in the WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinals.
The No. 11-seeded Vikings lost to No. 6-seeded Manitowoc Roncalli in three straight sets, 14-25, 16-25, 16-25.
"We've done some good growing and fundamental work this season," said Gibraltar head coach Lauren Ward. "It didn’t pay off [Tuesday night] on the scoreboard, but we’re planting seeds for seasons to come."
Statistical leaders for the Vikings included:
- Aileen Torres, five kills
- Azucena Jauregui, 21 digs, one ace
Manitowoc Roncalli advances to Thursday's semifinal match.
