Praxisforum Geothermie Bayern Recognizes Exceptional Geothermal Projects
The Praxisforum Geothermie Bayern event in Pullach, Germany, acknowledged outstanding geothermal heat and power projects and research work.
During the event, two exceptional geothermal plants, a key figure in geothermal development, and a groundbreaking research project were recognized. New records for heat generation from geothermal energy were also highlighted.
- The 24 geothermal plants in Bavaria collectively delivered around 3.4 TWh of heat in 2024, a 20% increase from the previous year.
- The Erding Geothermal Power Plant was honored as the “Golden Heating Plant 2024” for its high coefficient of performance, achieving a COP value of 40.5.
Using one kilowatt-hour of electricity, the Erding plant achieved a remarkable COP value.
