UB Financial Advisor Charged with Murder of Girlfriend
A University at Buffalo (UB) employee, Kidane Haile, 30, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Kathleen Carrig, 29.
According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, Haile allegedly strangled Carrig before a house fire occurred on October 18 at their shared apartment in Elmwood Village.
- Haile was arraigned and indicted on one count of second-degree murder.
- He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Haile was hospitalized for several days for smoke inhalation treatment after the Buffalo Fire Department responded to the fire.
