Meet the Laywoman Who Kept Catholic Faith Alive in Soviet Camps
A delegation from Kazakhstan has brought documents and testimonies to the Vatican for the cause of Servant of God Gertrude Detzel.
According to Auxiliary Bishop Yevgeny Zinkovskiy of Karaganda, Kazakhstan,
“It was a very warm welcome,”as the materials were delivered to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints on Oct. 21.
- The documents include over 30 pounds of accounts of miracles and testimonies.
- This marks the start of the Roman phase of the cause of the first laywoman from Central Asia to reach Rome.
