Umbria’s Frantoi Aperti welcomes visitors into working mills to taste the year’s new oil and discover the region’s landscapes and traditions.
Every fall, Umbria’s olive country opens its doors for Frantoi Aperti, a region-wide celebration taking place at the time of the olive harvest and the arrival of the new extra-virgin oil.
In 2025, the event reaches its 28th edition, running over five weekends from October 18 to November 16.
The format is simple but very interesting, as working mills welcome visitors while they are in full operation.
However, the program extends beyond production floors to enter squares, streets, and orchards, with concerts among ancient groves, guided tastings, art installations and family activities, all made even more special by the beautiful Umbrian landscape.
At its heart, of course, is the freshly milled olio nuovo.
