National Day against Global Arrogance in Iran
Iranians marked the National Day of Fighting against Global Arrogance with countrywide rallies.
Demonstrators, mostly students, expressed opposition to arrogant policies of enemies, particularly the US and the Zionist regime.
- Rallies were held in over 900 cities, including Tehran.
- The Tehran rally began at Palestine Square and marched towards the former US embassy, known as the Den of Espionage.
On November 4, 1979, Iranian university students seized the US embassy in Tehran, a center of espionage planning to overthrow the newly established Islamic system.
This event occurred less than a year after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, which toppled a US-backed monarchy.
