New Brit sitcom hopes to start shooting in Marbella

New Brit Sitcom to Start Shooting in Marbella

A new UK series, called Ketchup, is set to explore the cultural clashes, expat misadventures, and illusions of life abroad.

Described as a cross between Benidorm, Cheers, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the show will resonate with every expat who arrives in Spain with dreams of sunshine and sangria, only to find things rather different.

Starring and directed by Kevin McNally, known for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean, Life on Mars, and The Crown, filming began this autumn. McNally is joined by Sandra Dickinson, who played Trillian in the cult 1981 BBC series The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

The show will chime with every expat who arrives in Spain with dreams of sunshine and sangria and immersing themselves in the Spanish way of life – only to find things rather different.
