“the message of Jesus Christ was the salvation of humans from darkness, ignorance, corruption, depravity and discrimination.”The station, named Maryam-e Moqaddas or Holy Mary station, features a relief of Christ walking on water and a depiction of his mother Mary praying among flowers.
State media have characterized the name and motif of the station as a gesture of cultural coexistence, as Mary is also a venerated figure in Islam.
