On Friday, November 7, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal announced the birth of their baby boy. Sharing their joy on social media, they received an outpouring of congratulations from fans and followers. The couple married in 2021 after several years of dating and quickly became one of Bollywood's most beloved pairs.
Katrina’s upbringing was quite different from Vicky Kaushal’s, who was raised in Mumbai by his father, action director Sham Kaushal, and his mother, homemaker Veena Kaushal. Katrina grew up with her single mother, Suzanne Turquotte, a lawyer who later dedicated herself to international charity work.
Her mother’s work meant traveling extensively across continents, and Katrina, along with her seven siblings, often accompanied her during these journeys.
Katrina’s father was not part of her life. He left the family when she was very young and did not maintain a presence thereafter. Reflecting on this in a 2008 interview with Shoma Chaudhury, she stated:
“My father is not an influence, he was not part of our family; my parents separated when I was very young and I have never met him since.”
Katrina Kaif experienced a globe-trotting childhood with her mother’s charitable work, while her father remained absent, shaping her unique perspective on family and life.
