Miners prosper as FTSE 100 makes steady progress.
The FTSE 100 recouped some of Friday’s losses, closing up 15.40 points at 9,442.87, a 0.2% increase. Gold miners Fresnillo and Endeavour Mining saw significant gains, leaping 9.1% and 11% respectively.
In European equities, the CAC 40 in Paris closed up 0.2%, while the DAX 40 in Frankfurt ended up 0.6%.
This market shift comes as President Donald Trump has dialled down his rhetoric in the trade spat between the US and China.
