А fire severely damaged the 17th-century Bernaga Monastery outside of Milan in northern Italy.

The monastery, where Saint Carlo Acutis received his first holy Communion on June 16, 1998, was nearly destroyed in the blaze.

Ambrosian nuns managed to save a relic of St. Carlo.

The women all escaped without harm.

The monastery was built in 1628.
