The San Jose Sharks were on the verge of blowing a third-period lead, but Macklin Celebrini saved the day with a 6-5 OT victory.
Despite dominating the first period 2-0, the Sharks allowed the opposition to catch up. Vincent Iorio's high-sticking penalty led to a Marcus Johansson power-play goal, and an unforced error on a Tyler Toffoli-Vincent Desharnais puck exchange resulted in a Marco Rossi strike.
"That was our own doing," San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky said. "That's one big lesson."
The same pattern repeated itself in the third period, but the Sharks managed to regain their lead. Author's summary: Celebrini saves Sharks with OT victory.
