Claressa Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-division world champion, continues to elevate women’s boxing. The Flint native announced on Thursday that she has signed a multi-fight agreement guaranteeing her at least $8 million, likely the most lucrative contract ever for a female boxer.
While details about the number of fights and exact dates remain undisclosed, Shields confirmed she intends to make her next ring appearance in early 2026.
The new contract brings Shields together once again with her longtime promoter, Salita Promotions, alongside Wynn Records, a major name in the music industry.
“This deal represents more than just a contract, it’s a statement,” Shields said. “I’ve fought my entire career to prove that women’s boxing deserves equal respect, equal pay, and equal opportunity. Partnering with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records gives me the platform to keep breaking barriers inside and outside the ring. Together, we’re building something that’s never been done before.”
Shields, 30, last fought in July against New Zealand’s Lani Daniels at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Before over 15,000 fans, she earned a unanimous-decision win, improving her professional record to 17–0 while defending all five of her championship titles. Standing at 5-foot-8, she is widely regarded as the greatest women’s boxer of all time.
Claressa Shields’ groundbreaking $8 million contract underscores her leadership in women’s boxing and sets the stage for her highly anticipated 2026 comeback.
