The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced an urgent recall of three tomato sauce products due to concerns over a possible link to deadly food poisoning.
The recalled sauces are manufactured by First and Last Bakery, LLC in Connecticut. The FDA flagged the products because they were “manufactured without an approved schedule or otherwise evaluated to determine if the process is adequate,” which raises the risk of contamination by Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium causes botulism, a potentially fatal type of food poisoning.

The sauces come in 26 FL OZ jars and were distributed in retail stores such as Big Y and Stop & Shop in Connecticut and Massachusetts starting from September 22, 2025. The use-by dates extend to September 2026.
Customers are strongly advised not to consume these products and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The FDA has suspended the sale and production of these sauces to ensure that the manufacturer complies fully with all regulatory requirements.
