Lagos Reintroduces 61-Day Amnesty Window for Buildings Without Planning Permits
The Lagos State Government has announced a 61-day amnesty period for existing buildings without planning permits, effective from November 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
This initiative aims to encourage property owners to regularize their buildings by obtaining planning permits without incurring penalties.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, this is not the first time such an amnesty window has been introduced, with a similar initiative launched about 17 months prior.
The amnesty window is to run from November 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, allowing owners to perfect their planning permits on completed buildings without paying the expected penalty.
