Daybreak host Gary Walker featured the latest from the Nat Adderley, Jr. Trio, whose music combines the influences of Luther Vandross, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea.
Nat Adderley, Jr. began writing his own music at a young age, composing his first tune, "I'm On My Way," at 11, which appeared on a recording by his uncle Cannonball Adderley.
Without pressure from his family, Nat discovered his passion for music on his own and went on to collaborate with his high school friend Luther Vandross as his pianist and musical director for over two decades.
However, his true love lay in the creative spirit of jazz legends like John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Joe Zawinul.
