Switch to Winter Blend Means Lower Gas Prices for Drivers
With the third quarter of 2025 ending in higher gasoline inventories and the seasonal transition from summer-grade to winter-grade fuel, drivers are noticing lower prices at the pump.
In the Wausau area, it’s common to find regular unleaded gasoline under $2.60. According to the Energy Information Administration, demand for gasoline has fallen to a four-month low, contributing to the continued decline in pump prices.
According to AAA, the current average price for unleaded in Wisconsin is $2.67 a gallon. Last year at this time, the price was $3.05. Some of the lowest prices for fuel in Wisconsin are in central Wisconsin.
