A 1-in-30-million calico lobster, named Jackie, has made her debut at Northeastern University's Marine Science Center in Nahant, Massachusetts.
Jackie owes her unique colors to a mixture of chemical compounds. She is joining other Halloween-themed animals, such as spiders and bats, as a natural ambassador for the season.
According to Sierra Munoz, Marine Science Center outreach coordinator, the odds of catching a crustacean like Jackie are about one-in-30 million.
Author's summary: Meet Jackie, a rare calico lobster.
